Bona Remove takes acrylic polish off polyurethane-finished wood floors without damaging the original finish. Use it to strip polish build-up, or as the first step of the Bona Recoat System before recoating with a finish from the Bona Traffic HD family.

- Dwell time – 5–7 minutes. Do not let it dry on the floor.
- Ready to use – do not dilute.
- Certification – GREENGUARD Gold certified.

How to use
- Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds.
- Roll it onto a section of 40–60 sq ft.
- Let it dwell 5–7 minutes. Re-wet any area that starts to dry.
- Scrub. With a Bona PowerScrubber, use the soft white brushes and fill the machine with Bona Deep Clean. With a 175 rpm buffer, use a brown scrubbing pad and pick up the residue with a microfiber cleaning pad.
- Repeat where needed, then wet tack the whole floor.
After treatment the floor can be left as it is or polished again.
Using it in the Bona Recoat System
When you are recoating, Bona Remove comes first to take off the polish. Bona's system then continues with Bona Prep, abrasion with Bona Diamond 240 grit abrasives, a vacuum and wet tack, and the new coat of finish.
On hand-scraped or distressed floors, test first: hand abrade a spot that will not be seen with a 220 grit screen. If that exposes raw wood on the high points, do not go ahead with the Recoat System.
Frequently asked questions
How much do I need?
One gallon covers 700–800 sq ft. Heavy build-up may need a second pass on some areas.
Will it strip the polyurethane?
No. Bona states it will not damage the original finish. It is made to take off the acrylic polish that sits on top.
