WAKOL MS 230 is a one-component, flexible MS polymer (modified silane) adhesive for glue-down wood flooring in residential and commercial work. It covers engineered wood of any dimension and ¾" solid hardwood of North American species up to 4" wide. It comes in a 3 gallon pail.
Key features
- Zero VOC – 0 g/l (US regulatory), solvent free and water free, EMICODE EC1 PLUS.
- Moisture control – with the WAKOL B5 All-In-One trowel, tongue and groove flooring can go on slabs up to 12 lbs per 1,000 sq ft per 24 hours (ASTM F1869) or 90% RH (ASTM F2170).
- Sound reduction – STC 61 / IIC 62 on a 6" slab with a ceiling.
- Flexible bond – up to 50% elongation, and not affected by water once cured.
- Prefinished safe – does not etch prefinished surfaces.
Approved subfloors
Concrete, gypsum, OSB, plywood, particle board, wood planks, terrazzo and ceramic tile, above, on or below grade. It can go directly over WAKOL PU 280.
With a standard trowel, concrete must not exceed 3 lbs or 80% RH. Above 80% RH, Wakol requires PU 280 first, which takes the system up to 100% RH. Not for subfloors with excessive moisture or hydrostatic pressure.
